Watching a TV program on Channel News Asia, I have found out an interested show called “BlogTV” talking about blogging. It impresses me very much. The show was good to watch as it talking about the blogging and its responsibility. On that day show, there was a topic about Blogging and the Workplace. There was a special guest invited to talk about her experience of blogging, specifically blogging about her workplace.

Learning from the show, blogging is good as bloggers can express their opinions, sharing what they see, hear, and know … However, blogging may causes bloggers serious problem. For instance, the special guest of the show, a Delta airway stewardess, who get dismissed because she blogged about work. It is so shock for her as she got no job soon her organization found out the blogging. Finally, during the show, a lot of question has been raised such as (1) Why do people blog about work, and what happens when they do? (2) Did you know that there is a term for being fired for blogging about your work. It’s called being ‘dooced’. (3) Are there hard and fast rules when it comes to blogging about your work? And (4) Can blogging about your co-workers land you behind bars?

For her experience, it seems to me blogging is so dangerous. So why do people blog what they want to express or shout out. What are responsibilities of blogger? Since we are not sure about this, please blog with responsibility.

The 2006 fiscal year will be ended soon so all organizations both public and private are in hurry to prepare the next year budget plan. For instance, the government has worked very hard to prepare the 2007 national budget. “The Chief of Economic and Finance Committee of National Assembly has recently announced the 2007 national budget. He has reported that national planned expenditure for 2007 was 1,100.00 millions US dollar. The 2007 budget was 200.00 millions US dollar higher than 2006” quoted from Radio Australia.

Base on population projection from Ministry of Planning, the Cambodia total population will be 14,363,519 in 2007. In addition, according to the data from Ministry of Economic and Finance, projected Gross Domestic Production (GDP) will be 6,993.17 millions US dollar. Hence, the GDP per Capita will be approximately 487.00 US dollar, increasing a little bit from 456.00 US dollar in 2006.

With the increase of national budget, it indicates that the government has made excellent efforts in public investment. It sounds good, isn’t it? In response to the announcement of the 2007 national budget, a parliamentary member from opposition party has expressed that there is somehow an improvement but this amount will still not adequate for public investment.

By knowing a little bit about economic and as I am not an economist I should not express any ideas or judge whether or not the progress has been made by the government. However, as a citizen, I should share my own analysis and expression from doing my simple mathematic.

As in 2007, the national budget was 1,100.00 millions US dollar and projected population was 14,363,519, meaning the government will invest about 76.58 US dollar per Cambodian for the year of 2007. If my interpretation is right, do you think this amount is adequate to meet the social need of the people?

I was asked by my uncle about a little tip of Windows Registry. The question was “Hey guy … how can I change the location of some special folders such as My Documents, My Favorite, My Pictures…” And I asked him back “Why you need to do so?” The rational was described below.

The most important advantage of changing the default of the location of some special folders is to secure you from losing some important data saved in the default folder location like My Documents. By default, with Windows operating system, data normally will be saved in My Documents located in drive C of each user personal setting. And what if you delete the user and forget to choose the option “keep your files”. One more thing, what if your PC is accidentally crashed or collapsed by virus and you can’t access those user folders. Hence, it is so logic to change the default location of those Windows’ default folders to others location for instance in drive D (if you PC has two drives).

Below is a tip to make this change. Just follow below steps:

1. Start
2. Run
3. Type “regedit” in the run dialog then click OK button
4. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
5. Just double click on any string represents the location that you need to change and modify its path.
6. Log off or restart your PC to take affect.

Work done! Finally my uncle reached his goal. Just a little tip but it is worthwhile.
