Ta Mok’s death recorded in AP’s noticeable death
Ta Mok, known as the Khmer Rouge’s “Butcher,” has had his death recorded by Polly Anderson of The Associated Press in his article “Farewells of ’06” as one of the most noticeable deaths in the world 2006.
He died on July 21, 2006 at the age of 80.
“His name has,” according to Wikipedia the free encyclopedia” , “also been reported as Ek Choeun, Oeung Choeun and Ung Choeun, and he was also known as “ Brother Number Four” ”.
Other noticeable deaths includes, but not limited to, those of Gerald Ford, former US president, on December 26 at the age of 93; and Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin of Australia, who died of sting ray attack on September 4 at the age of 44.
The article was published on December 30, the same day but hours before Saddam Hussenwas hanged for his crimes against humanity in Iraq. Saddam’s death was not recorded there.

Jolie’s New Year’s resolution is to step up efforts to help Cambodia
Angelina Jolie and her husband Brad Pitt have been reported to say that one of their new year resolutions was to step up their efforts to help people in need in Cambodia, the motherland of their adopted son Maddox.
The two have donated millions of dollars and teamed up with Dr. Jeffrey Sachs and his anti-poverty organization Millennium Promise on an economic-development program in northwestern Cambodia, reported Fox23news.Com Dec 28, 06.
Jolie told People magazine, “ We have learned so much and I think we are on the right track. We hope people will travel to Cambodia. The people there have overcome so much,” the online news concluded. “It is really moving to visit my son’s own country,” said Pitt, making reporter Susan Hatch of The National Ledger to write that Cambodia has a permanent place in their hearts.
